1st birthday!

Happy birthday (a few weeks late) sweet girl!  It has been SUCH a joy to be your mommy this past year.  I have learned so much, it is incredible.  You have taught me so much JOY, patience, love, selflessness... you are my dream come true.  I thank Jesus all the time for giving you to me and your daddy.  We are so privileged and honored to be your parents.  What a blessing!  I continue to pray daily for wisdom as I navigate parenting. I will be honest, half the time I have no idea what to do.  You are my first baby, which means I get to learn a lot with you, but it also means that I get to experience all of this incredible LOVE for the first time- and oh what a deep love it is!  Thank you for being my sweet baby- stay little forever sweet girl!

my big girl!

ummm i feel like i am a terrible blogger.... i haven't blogged since before Christmas and here it is early April already... sorry! A lot of time has passed since I last wrote to you, sweet girl.  You are now 1 year old- almost 13 months already! You are walking all over the place, jabbering up a storm, able to say several words, able to make lots of animal noises, and SO SO much fun! You are such a beautiful girl.  Your hair has gotten so long- I haven't cut it yet, and don't want to.  However, your hair is always in your eyes and you won't leave any clips or ponytails alone... so we will see ;) You are in 18 month clothes, although they are still very large on you!  You are right between size 3 and 4 shoes and you now really need to wear them because you walk everywhere! You love to take your clothes out of the drawers and carry them all around with you.  You also really enjoy running away from me when I try to dress you! You do not like getting your diaper changed and it takes a lot of work on my part to keep you happy and entertained while I do it.  You love your shoes- you will often bring certain pairs to me (particularly slippers) and ask me to put them on your feet.  You are so so messy when you eat and you will NOT wear bibs, so we change clothes at least once a day and they all have stains all over them ;) You are so playful and active- you love your toys and especially your dolls and stuffed animals! You will carry your babies around with you everywhere! You especially enjoy your "Johanna dolly" and your "Maxi cat".  Maxi even got a "bath" in your water table and you peed on her the yesterday while playing naked outside... I have to figure out how to wash her....You also really enjoy cars- you zoom them around saying "vroom vroom" and you love to put your Johanna dolly or other small toys in the back of your truck and give them rides! It is so much fun to watch you learn and explore! You are such a curious little bugger and you will be such a smart girl! You also really enjoy reading- you love being read to the most.  You will sit on my lap with you blanky and ask me to read you book after book after book! We have been frequenting the "Little free library" by Pacific University and getting you so many books- so much fun! I really enjoy keeping you busy... we have an activity everyday that daddy is gone at work.  Right now, here is an example of our schedule:
6:30-7:30- wake up & nurse
7:30-9:30- eat breakfast, play while mom does dinner prep, cleans, folds laundry, etc.
9:30-10:30-nurse & nap
10:30-12- morning activity (see below)
12-1:30- lunch and casual play
1:30-2:30- nurse & nap
2:30-4- afternoon activity, usually some errands or just doing work around the house
4-4:30- dinner
4:30-6:30- try to keep you busy- usually your crankiest time of the day...
6:30- nurse & bed
Monday- either play group at church or walking with April
Tuesday- mom's group
Wednesday- day with grandma Sandee
Thursday/Friday- daddy's days off!
Saturday- find something! getting groceries, OutdoorsIn, a park
Sunday- church
You are still breastfeeding 4/5 times a day and that makes me so happy! I am so glad to be able to have that relationship with you! You are so talkative during the nursing sessions- you will bark like a dog or stop nursing to grab my nose, but you are always so sweet! You will ask for more (sign language) in between sides- so sweet! You use the sign language for more for EVERYTHING.  Any time you want something you will look at it and use the more sign- you crack me up! You love to eat- just about everything, but you love tomatoes, grapes, and peanuts the most right now.
We have been so busy lately- you were a champ through our move and settled right in nicely.  You love being at grandma's house- so much more activity here and lots more time with your cousins and grandparents.  I think it will be good for you- especially for your Spanish speaking!
I love you SO much and am SO thankful to be your mommy! You are one of my very favorite parts of my life- you bring so much joy and energy to me!
