Hello, big sister! You are 1 week in to your new role as a big sister and so far, you are doing alright. You seem very interested in sister, but you are super jealous! You ask to hold her and get up into the glider with your "special pillow" (boppy) around your waist and we lay her down over it. You sing her songs and rock, which is just about the cutest thing ever! We brought your "helping stool" into the room and put it right by sister's play-pen where the changing table is and you always climb up and want to watch the diaper changes and when we get her dressed, etc. You saw me pumping and wanted to drink mommy's milk and now ask for it every day, but you only want it in a bottle and do not have any interest in actually breastfeeding again. I was curious if you would want to since you only stopped about 6 months ago, but I am kind of glad you're not interested as my boobs are super sore and I don't know if I could handle wiggly toddler breastfeeding anyway! You were very interested in her bath-time and wanted to sit in the baby bath after she was done. You are kind of rough with her- like bouncing her bouncer really hard while she is in it or touching her face while holding her. I know she won't break, so we are trying not to over-react to you being rough, but it is hard when she seems so fragile and little. You have been really acting out- whiny and needy- i know you are just processing your feelings! What a terribly hard thing for you to understand- all of a sudden, mommy is busy with a new baby and needs to sit and rest while breastfeeding and can't take you out to all our normal outings. I am so sorry you are going through this right now, but i hope and pray that sister will be your BEST friend someday and you will be so so glad to have her in your life! Tonight, you are staying the night at Gramma Sandee's house. A little break for you from all the talk and attention on sister and a little break for us from the whining ;) Whenever Abuelita starts to sing to sister, you say "no, Ita!" and today you kept asking Gramma Sandee "Are you mine, grandma?" and she said "Yes, I am your grandma and June's grandma." and you thought for a minute and then replied, "no you are not sister's grandma." hahahah. I love you, sweet girl and I know you are going to be such an incredible big sister once this time of transition is over! You are going to have so much fun playing together and you are going to be such a great helper for mama! I feel so so blessed to have TWO girls! What a treat! I always wanted a sister close in age growing up- I was always jealous of girls who had that- and I am so so thankful that you get to have that! =D
