2nd birthday!

it was free pancake day at Ihop, so we told you we were getting you birthday pancakes! this will probably become a yearly tradition ;) you certainly loved getting your own plate of pancakes to cover in syrup! you grabbed the whole ball of butter too!

Gramma Sandee gave you lots of wonderful presents, like a Daniel Tiger coloring and sticker book and an art smock! She also took us out for Noodles'n'co for lunch and got you your favorite, mac'n'cheese! They gave us the number 2 and you got a free birthday cookie!

We celebrated twice with this side of the fam. Once on your actual bday with all the cousins and tias and tios, and once more once your grandparents got home from Mexico.  you were so excited to get to blow out the candle on your cake and have everyone sing to you. I just took videos, but I wish I had captured the moment on camera too. You got some books, bubble bath, cute clothes. Lots of fun.
We kept your birthday pretty low key this year because baby sister was only a few weeks old, but you had so much fun celebrating with family! we are so excited you are TWO! what a fun age. You are such a sweet, imaginative, passionate little lady and I am SO blessed to get to watch you grow!

Hurricane Johanna

Girlfriend, I don't even know where to start with your blog entry right now... you are a whirlwind! Your dad has nicknamed you "Hurricane Johanna".  You are into everything and want to do everything all at once. You move at such a fast pace.  And you are TWO...which is such a fun age, but also brings all the tantrums.  I am so glad I get to stay home and be with you every day and experience all of your ups and downs and crazy!
You talk like crazy and say such funny things.  The other day, daddy thanked you for putting his boots back on the shoe rack- to which you replied, "Look, I"m funny daddy. I put hay in your shoes." You LOVE to make us laugh.
You have such a big heart and love so many people.  You know all of your friends and their moms by name.  You adore both of your grandmothers and ask for them all the time.
You are so creative- you have such a wonderful imagination.  You love to play pretend and always act out anything you see on TV.  You are just starting to learn to play by yourself, but still ask mom or dad to play with you all the time! You are so fun to play with...you make us be jaguars or characters from Daniel Tiger.  You use different voices for different characters.  SO cute.
You are such a wonderful big sister and want June to come with us everywhere.  You also want me to carry you everywhere.  Poor mama! We went to the zoo the other day and I thought you would have more fun walking with Claire and didn't bring the stroller- BAD idea. I ended up carrying you piggy-back at least half the time while carrying June in the Ergo.  You are definitely going through a slight regression.  You have stopped pooping on the potty and want bottles and cry a lot more and want to be held all the time.  It is kind of sweet and I am trying to soak you all up while you are still wanting to be little.  You are also starting to say "I'll do it all by myself" and wanting more independence, so it won't be long before you won't want me to hold you any more! You are so good at "playing" with your sister- you give her toys and talk to her and give her kisses.  I pray that you and June will be best friends!
You remember everything- we had April and baby Josiah the other day after not seeing them for a month- I said Miss April was coming over and you said "Oh and baby Josiah.  Can I have my piano again?" because last time you played with your toy piano and it was too loud for Josiah haha!
I love you more than I know how to say.  Some days, you drive me crazy and I can't wait until daddy gets home from work.  And other days, I miss you when you go to bed and wish I could have more one on one time with you.  Your dad and I are going to start taking you out on dates now that you are 2 and it is going to be so special to get a monthly one on one with you to let you know how wonderful and loved YOU are- just as you are! God has blessed us with you and I am SO thankful to be your mama. I love you my sweet girl.
