SEVEN

My first baby! I can hardly believe how time is flying by. You are growing up so fast. This year for your birthday, you wanted a unicorn theme. You kind of wanted a cousin sleepover like June had, but I didn't really want to do it again just 6 weeks later haha. plus your great-grandparents and Aunt Cindy & Uncle Dave & Chris were flying out to Oregon to commemorate the 1 year anniversary of life shutting down thanks to the 'rona. And they wanted to meet Eleanor. and while they were here, they wanted to throw you a party! I ended up throwing it with a little help from Gramma Sandee, but they were here anyway ;) It was fun! We played pin the horn on the unicorn, you opened some awesome presents, you were pushed on your new giant swing by many people, we had your favorite cheeseburgers with pickles and tomatoes and you requested donuts so we had donuts in lieu of cake. There had been a doll at Discounts Plus that was only $5 and you were begging to buy it with your own money right around Christmas and I just kept saying no because you were going to get a lot of presents or just got a lot of presents, but I grabbed it when I made it out there alone one time and gave it to you for your bday and you were SO excited. That was fun! You also got the Unicorn Sticker by number book and you have been so into that! And a smart watch and a Barnes&Noble gift card! Grandma Sandee of course took you on your annual bday date and you got some awesome toys that you picked out from Target and an outfit, a meal at Red Robin and this year even a sleepover! I think you have felt like a queen the past few days!

Your dad and I were chatting the other day about how we think this summer you are going to lose your two top teeth, learn to tie your shoes, and learn to ride a bike without training wheels. All such big girl things! You are reading way beyond 1st grade level and blew through the Junie B. Jones series and most of the Magic Tree House series. You are super into audio books and will spend all day curled up by the heater listening if I let you. You aren't a huge fan of homeschooling, but we are working on it... ;) You are so smart, but never want to stop playing to work. and I don't know how to not make it feel like work. You need to spend time practicing your writing, but you hate it. we have had many fights over the past few months about it and when Eleanor came home, I gave up on homeschooling completely for a few weeks. I hope it will get better next year when June is in kindergarten and it won't feel like you're the only one having to stop playing? This year with the virus has been hard on friendships- the only friends we see consistently are Elliette Mones and Alberta Brooks, so we have played with them a whole lot! We see the Kukis boys sometimes too and Ruby Maller so that is always a treat! but lots of family time, lots of grandma time, etc. oh and cousins have been such a blessing!
